SWEETBITTER strayed from the usual genres I consume as it is a fiction narrative about a young girl who moves to New York and gets a job at a restaurant.
The reader follows Tess as she is thrown head first into the world of restaurants and gets a crash course on life, food, and love, and in a way, ends up right where she started.
I loved the writing style of STEPHANIE DANLER as she combines quick wit and short phrases. Her style along with the clever title are reasons alone to pick up this book. It’s just an added bonus that the characters are flawed and lovable.
